Silent Wisdom From the Cali Coast…

Today, I had something on the schedule that I just couldn’t get to. Too much other stuff to do. Anyway, I got close, I really did, but in the consideration of it all, I realized it was not gonna happen. I ended up on the coast instead.

It was cold and cloudy, not at all what I would have preferred, but still very beautiful. I found myself in places I had never been before (and some that I had), and saw some creation for the first time. It was amazing.

Spending time with nature can be pretty exhilarating. No hum of electronics, no blaring images on TV, just the majestic beauty of the world. There is something powerful in the silence of nature. Life takes on a different perspective. Enough talk, I’ll let you experience some of what I was able to take in. Enjoy! (you can see all the pics here:

  1. Wow Ken, your pictures are beautiful – thanks so much for sharing!

Your words totally resonate with me because nature just does something to me, rejuvenates me and brings all the scattered pieces back together again :^)

    1. thanks Christie. I’ve always felt that from the beach, but as I venture into new areas, i’m learning that it’s not just the beach… it’s all of nature πŸ™‚

  2. Beautiful photos, and I agree – sometimes getting away is just what I need, too. This really made me miss the Pacific Ocean, nothing like it! (And the chipmunk is a great shot!)

    1. I was so surprised the chipmunk just hung out while I was taking pics. No attempt to run or hide. Maybe it was used to humans, but whatever it was, even that amazed me :-). Getting away was wonderful. Looking forward to the next time I can

  3. Beautiful photos (I especially love the chipmunk in hiding). πŸ™‚

I used to live in the northeast, and while I didn’t see the beach often, I long to move back there and have a home on the beach…up on a sturdy cliff overlooking the ocean…maybe with a lighthouse nearby.

However, I am learning to be content where I’m at. It’s not easy, but sometimes I find myself sitting quietly and thinking of all the things I have to be grateful for. Attitude can really affect all areas of our lives. It’s good to just sit down and quietly contemplate our blessings. πŸ™‚

I’m glad you had a wonderful time, and have beautiful photos to show for it. πŸ™‚

  4. Life has its way of sidetracking us and somehow providing what we need instead of what we think we need. Sometimes we just need to go with it and postpone what we thought we should be doing and take a walk on the beach πŸ™‚
I love nature, traveling and how everything takes on a new perspective, like you said.
Having fallen in love with the ocean a couple of months ago, I can feel the stillness and peace from here – you live in a beautiful place! (So, when can I move in? I promise to make donuts every day if that earns me bonus points :P)

    1. Definite bonus points!

It was so peaceful, even watching the waves crashing on the shore.
I almost turned back and didn’t get to the coast. I’m so glad I didn’t. Most of my travel now is for business, and I haven’t had the opportunity to really appreciate the places i have been. i’m trying to get better at taking time to see the beauty around me
