Love: one of the most needed, least understood, heavily bantered yet rarely committed to concepts. We love people, kittens, Facebook posts and ice cream – often equally. Often, love happens when it happens: we don’t control it, we find ourselves in it, or out of it, and react to the topsy turvy notion of love. God, however loves differently. His love is active and purposeful, and He calls us to enter into love in the same manner: not just letting life experiences determine if we will or can love, but pursuing it, both for ourselves and for others we encounter.
