Two men, two stories… Two different reactions to time… one was successful, gained a lot, and was set for life. “What shall I do? I’ll build bigger barns so I can store more grain, and have more for myself.” Yet he died alone, unable to take all of his riches with him.
The other man, also successful, watched his youngest son leave, and each day, stood, waiting for his son to return. Money wasn’t the measure of his success… it was being able to share his life with his sons. When his son returned, the man picked up where he left off, not losing another moment with his son, because time spent with him was so precious.
Time is one commodity that is spent, wasted or stolen, but cannot be purchased – you cannot get more. You can only use what you have wisely, so it truly is the richest of all your treasures.
What are you doing with your time?
“but while he was a long way off, his father saw him, and was filled with compassion for him. He ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him.” – Luke 15:20.
