Gettin to Know Ya…

I’m such a creature of habit… I’m sure we all are, but I’m really bad at it. So much so, that I don’t even have to order at some places… they see me coming and my order is up by the time I come in the door.

I realize that I’ve been that way online as well. I go to the same blogs, comment on the same topics… basically, you can see me coming. Not that there is anything wrong with that – I mean, I have some awesome friends online (go ahead, take a bow, you’re worth it 🙂 )Then I got this random thought… what if I started getting to know the other people associated with my friends, intentionally? After all, some of my closest relationships were because I was introduced by friends… maybe even by you, and now I act like I’ve known them all my life.

So here’s my thought… Not gonna be too aggressive about it, cuz my time is pretty minimal, but I’m going to choose, at random one new person a week, check out who they are, comment on their blogs and/or tweets, and just get to know some new people. Might be interesting to see who ends up in my life after this. You may see some random guest posts, or maybe some highlights from me (“hey, this person is great! you need to meet them!”).

Kind of excited.. something new, and even though I am a creature of habit, I still like new.

  1. I’ve been thinking the same thing!! You might want to check out my friend http://www.melissacrytzerfry.com‘s blog @crytzerfry (amazing Arizona desert inspiration). Not that you asked, but I think you’d like that one… let me know who I should check out!? I’m a creature of habit too (but don’t eat out enough to have someone know what I order…. still all the clerks at the grocery store know me well 🙂

    1. Hi Julia!
You know, you actually introduced Melissa to me via Twitter, and a quality person she is! I’m starting my quest today, as this weekend was filled with all kinds of wonderful, hanging with my mom, my daughter’s dance company performing, new recipes in the kitchen… glad I have a long flight so I can recover 🙂
