From the Snake’s Perspective…

Ah, the sun’s peeking out! Time to come from out of the trees and bushes, and get my tan on!

Sun, such wonderful sun. Feels so good on my scales. I’ve been freezing all day, what with the clouds, wind and trees and stuph… Maybe I can get a little shut eye while I warm up.

I wish those humans would keep it down. At least they aren’t on my trail. They should have read the warnings when they came into the preserve (what!? They only warn about Mountain Lions!? I’m outraged! Don’t they know who I am?)

Back to sleep… feels so good… Hey! HEY! Watch out now! Didn’t you see me? You almost stepped right on me, and that would not have been pretty, for you. Do you see the rattles? Do you?? I’m not even gonna shake ’em. Just look.. yeah, that’s right. I got ’em, and I’m not afraid to use ’em.

Look at him, pulling out his camera. I’m not even gonna pose. I’ll just sit here like I was, pretending he ran away. Go ahead… take your pics. Tell everyone about me. I know I’m the highlight of your little walk.

Ah, sun, beautiful sun… I wonder who else’s day I can make…

      1. Oops! I was logged into mine and Jill’s blog when I commented. Did you recognize me behind the funny avatar?

      2. Actually, I did, for 2 reasons. One, it sounded like you, and two, I recognized the Ip address (but I was a little curious at first as to who Amos was đŸ˜‰ )

  1. Oohhhh slither hither and thither…I love this shot and I love your perspective! Funny, our signs warn of mountain lions and not snakes either and I think I encountered 6 or 7 snakes this summer, hiking. Hmmmm. Happy rest of your Sunday! *huugs* G

    1. Isn’t that weird, Gina? I haven’t seen any evidence of Mountain Lions (not that I want to), but snakes are much more prevalent.

Sunday is good. just finishing dinner (turned out pretty well. Love to cook đŸ™‚ ) Huugs to you too đŸ™‚

  2. How I missed this earlier I’m not sure, but love the voice you gave to the snake.
Now… please be more careful while hiking and next time try and resist the urge to take pics?

    1. The glory of telephoto… I was able to take it from a safe location (as opposed to the step that was probably one foot away from the snake)

I’ll definitely be careful next time đŸ˜‰

  3. I like this. Very creative. Thanks for visiting my very dark blog from last night. I deleted it this morning. Can’t keep that bad energy around.
I hope you stop back and see the brighter side of me.
    It’s a great day.
